The opening ceremony...because I work in a windowless room. However we could hear and feel the fireworks in the press center and it was special to be here. Several of the photographers, who were in the stadium, report finding themselves with tears in their eyes on occasion, it was quite a show!
When I got 'home' (a high-rise complex) the staff there had put little Chinese flags above the door of my building and even at 2am appeared to be bright-eyed, I believe with pride and from a Olympic view, very well deserved.
Let the games begin!
